Biography

Christopher Otte's passion for music and dsc00372expertise in percussion has led to many opportunities in teaching, performing, composing, and conducting.

Originally from Cape Coral, Florida, Christopher spent two years at the University of Central Florida studying percussion and music education. He spent an additional two years at North Greenville University in South Carolina furthering his music education. While in South Carolina, he taught marching and orchestral percussion at various high schools and indoor drum lines. Christopher then spent two years in Athens, West Virginia studying percussion and earned his B.S. degree in Music Education from Concord University.

Christopher has performed in the marching percussion activity since 2003. He was a member of the Madison Scouts Drum & Bugle Corps from 2006 to 2009 as a front ensemble member and as a conductor. He performed as a front ensemble member of Music City Mystique during their 2010 winter season. After aging-out of junior corps, he returned to the marching activity at the Phantom Regiment Drum & Bugle Corps to teach as a visual technician during the 2011 season. He also taught at Catalyst Percussion, an independent indoor organization as the front ensemble caption head for their 2011 and 2012 season.

Currently, Christopher is the Band Director at Summersville Middle School and the Assistant Band Director at Nicholas County High School in Summersville, West Virginia. He is also teaching private lessons in southern West Virginia.
